Tubelight’, the film’s director Kabir Khan, music composer Pritam, Sohail Khan and the film’s co-producer Amar Butala were present along with the film’s leading man – Salman Khan. Unveiling the trailer, Salman said that he doesn’t like watching the it. He said, “Whenever I see the trailer and see Om Puri ji in it, it kills me. One moment he was there shooting with us and the next moment he was gone. That is why I don’t like watching the trailer.” Salman said, “It’s really sad that I’ve lost 3 very close people in the last few months. Reema Lagoo, Vinod Khanna and Om Puri.” Speaking about the film, Salman said, “It is a very emotional film. The emotions were draining because Sohail Khan and I are real life brothers and we are acting on-screen together too.” Salman spoke about what makes him sign a film, “When you sign a film, it’s all in the screenplay and the story. If you can visualise the character you can do the film. To maintain the honesty, simplicity and purity in the film is most important.” Kabir Khan mentioned that the idea for the film came from the 2015 film ‘Little Boy’. Kabir said, “Every film is special. When you enjoy the process you love the film. I am as excited about this film as I was about ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.” The ace director also spoke more about the film’s being set in 1962, he said, “I think every story has a different reason and why it’s set in a particular time. Though ‘Tubelight’ is set in ’62, it’s relevant even today. When you watch the film, you’ll know.” -
